Design of interior is a story of harmonious partner relationship between the Customer and the architect in which every party is responsible for his/her own area. The architect’s aim is to hear the Customer, find the most appropriate interior solution of any and all requirements, develop an expert design project based on which a qualified team of repairmen will implement all the ideas of the Customer. The Customer’s aim is to provide complete information at the request of the architect and be able to discuss the whole range of solutions proposed by the architect. As you may see the principal part of job is reasonably vested with a specialist. And that’s right!

Creating the interior design project includes several stages:

Preparatory stage

We meet, get acquainted with each other, understand whether we like each other, record your expectations, requests, wishes and discuss the budget. After that stage I do questionnaire and photos at the object, prepare the Technical Specification and the Design Agreement. After signing of the agreement and payment of the advance we may go to the next stage.

Space-planning solution

Based on the data collected in the Technical Specification I prepare a couple of options of the space-planning solution. At this stage other specialists may be involved (especially in case of large objects with complicated engineering or special construction features). Based on the approved space-planning solution we may go to the next stage.

Concept solution

This is a stage of image search for future interior. Through manual sketches or via 3D visualization and style collages we determine the basic and auxiliary aspects, think over the life scenarios in this interior. At this stage we shall chose principal decoration materials, furniture, kitchen and bathroom furniture and appliances; select colors and light concept, set parameters for subsequent detailing. If necessary I give tasks to the specialists involved (ventilation, air conditioning, electrical engineering, etc.). Based on the approved concept solution we may go to the next stage.

Working documentation

At this stage all the sketches resulting from the above acts shall be gathered in the album of detailed design drawings which fixes main information for implementation of the project by the team of qualified workmen. If necessary a close cooperation with relative specialists takes place in regard to matching of engineering networks with the interior concept. After preparation and approval of the working design we can start implementation of the whole project.

The working documentation includes:

  1. List of the basic packet drawings,
  2. General data,
  3. Measuring plan,
  4. Photo fixation,
  5. Plan of demolition (if appropriate),
  6. Furniture plan,
  7. Assembly plan,
  8. Floor plan,
  9. Warm floor plan (if appropriate),
  10. Door assembly chart with the list of door assembly,
  11. Ceiling plan,
  12. Ceiling sections (if appropriate),
  13. Plan of lamps including specification,
  14. Dimensional plan of lamps,
  15. Scheme of turning-on lamps,
  16. Scheme of arrangement of electric fittings,
  17. Specification of electric fittings,
  18. Plan of wall decoration,
  19. Detailing of bathrooms,
  20. Specification of sanitary equipment,
  21. Elevation views of premises,
  22. List of decoration (principal decoration materials),
  23. Details for special interior elements (if appropriate),
  24. Sketch drawings of integral and tailor-made furniture (if appropriate).

The working design DOES NOT include:

  1. Electricity design (cable sections, quantity of cable, cable routes, design of electrical distribution box, etc.) If necessary these functions may be performed by an electric engineer under a separate contract;
  2. Heating and ventilation project (estimation of power and selection of equipment, schemes, joints, sections). If necessary these functions may be performed by relative specialists under a separate contract. The working design provides only overall features and exterior of end devices (radiators, convectors, ventilation grids, ducts for ventilation).
  3. Technological drawings of integrated furniture, wardrobe, kitchen unit (it is the responsibility of a manufacturing company).
  4. Law-voltage networks (multiroom, smart home, alarm, the Internet networks). If necessary the exterior of end devices (speaker systems, wall control units, indicators) is matched with the rest interior, while the systems shall be designed by a contractor.
  5. Executive schemes for sanitary equipment and electricity. This is the responsibility of builders and contractors.
  6. Assembling laying out of ceramic tile (the exact estimation of laying out is impossible, because construction works at the object start after the design is completed). Current amendments are made as a service of on-site designer supervision.
  7. Preparation of construction cost estimates. This is the responsibility of respective construction companies and related contractors.
  8. Approval of the design in accordance with the requirements of all relevant state authorities.
  9. Calculation of actual number of decoration materials to be purchased. These calculations may be made as a service of design complete set taking into account the requirements for goods dispatch (for example, parquet and laminated flooring are sold by whole packs, ceramic tile by boxes, etc.) and verified end measurements made during the construction works.
  10. Technical lighting calculations. If necessary the professional lightning calculations is made by a lighting engineering company
  11. Executive drawings of complex technical solutions (if any).

The preparation of residential premise design costs from 1,000 to 3,000 rubles/sq.m.
